Amoré Orthodontic Aligners — Refund & Candidacy Policy

Last updated: January 1, 2026 · Applies to amoresmile.com (the "Site"), covering both our Farmington Hills in-office care and our at-home (teleorthodontic) care.


1. The $50 diagnosis fee

  • Starting your at-home journey requires a $50 diagnosis fee.
  • This fee is credited toward the total cost of your treatment if you proceed.
  • It covers your orthodontic records review and the board-certified orthodontist's candidacy determination after your impressions are received.

2. Records requirement (radiographs)

  • Treatment requires current dental records, including radiographs (x-rays). Most patients already have these from their general dentist. If you don't, you'll first complete a routine dental cleaning/exam — at which radiographs are taken — before treatment begins.
  • Our board-certified orthodontist reviews these records as part of your candidacy determination, so your case is evaluated against the same standard of care as in-office orthodontics.

3. If you are NOT a candidate

  • If, after reviewing your records and impressions, our orthodontist determines that clear aligner treatment is not appropriate or safe for you, you will not be charged for treatment.
  • Of the $50 diagnosis fee, $25 (50%) is refunded; we retain $25 to cover materials and return shipping of your impression kit.
  • We will explain why and, where possible, suggest alternatives.

4. Impression kit

  • The impression kit is mailed after your $50 payment and intake.
  • If your kit is lost or damaged in return shipping, or you need to redo your impressions: your first replacement kit is free; each additional replacement is $25.
  • Kit materials are otherwise non-refundable once shipped (their cost is part of the $50, which is credited to treatment if you proceed).

5. Cancellations once treatment is approved

Because aligners and retainers are custom-made medical devices manufactured specifically for you, refunds are limited once fabrication begins:

When you cancel What happens
Before your aligners are manufactured Refund of amounts paid, less the $25 diagnosis portion. (Nothing custom has been made yet.)
After your aligners are manufactured or shipped Non-refundable — custom devices cannot be reused or resold.
Mid-treatment, by your choice Amounts already paid are non-refundable; your remaining monthly installments stop and the remaining balance is written off (we will not bill you further).

6. In-house 0% payment plan

  • Our plan: $200 down, $99/month, 0% interest, no credit check, with a valid credit/debit card kept on file.
  • The $50 diagnosis fee is credited toward your total balance.
  • You authorize recurring monthly charges to your card on file until the balance is paid.
  • Missed/declined payment: you have a 10-day grace period; we will automatically retry the charge. If it remains unresolved, your treatment is paused until your account is current. There is no late fee.
  • You may pay off your balance early at any time with no penalty.

7. Amoré Smile Protection add-on ($500)

  • The optional protection add-on (5 years of unlimited replacement trays/retainers — $0 co-pay on replacements during treatment, $20 co-pay per arch on retainer replacements after treatment, no separate shipping charge, plus an instant back-up set) is non-refundable once paid.

8. Replacement aligners & retainers (without the protection plan)

If you did not purchase Amoré Smile Protection and you lose or break a device: - Replacement aligner (mid-treatment): $50 per arch, plus shipping. - Replacement retainer (during or after your 1-year retainment): $100 per arch, plus shipping. - Money-saver: the optional Amoré Smile Protection plan ($500) covers unlimited replacement aligners and retainers for 5 years — $0 co-pay during treatment and just $20 per arch on retainer replacements after treatment, with no separate shipping charge.

9. In-office (Farmington Hills) patients

  • Consultations are free.
  • Payment for in-office treatment is collected in person; refund terms for custom devices mirror Sections 5–7 above.

10. Minors

  • Patients under 18 are enrolled, consented for, and paid for by a parent or legal guardian (18+) acting as the responsible party. Refund rights are exercised by that responsible party.

11. How to request a refund or cancel

  • Contact us at help@amoresmiles.com or (248) 288-3560. Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method within 10 business days.
